July 11, 2021 | Westside Offering Meals, Resources Following Summer Storms

Posted July 11, 2021

Westside families, staff and community members,

We know many of you suffered damage and outages due to this weekend’s storms throughout the Omaha area. Thanks to our hardworking team members with Building Services and our partners with OPPD, many Westside buildings have power and normal activities/events will take place this week. Regularly scheduled Summer School will be in session at normal times, as will Early Childhood Centers and Club 66 at all buildings except Sunset Hills. Sunset Hills ECC/Club 66 will be closed Monday July 12. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We have many services available that may help your children and family if you were/are affected by the storms. Westside Community Schools offers free summer meals every day to students and their families, a program funded by the US Department of Agriculture. We will serve children through 18 years of age; parents and guardians may also pick up 5-day meal kids (breakfast and lunch provided) with or without a student present. No identification or proof of financial qualifications are required. Please consider this an option for your children and family if you need a meal, along with a break in an air conditioned area.
