May 13, 2022 | 8 Students Graduate From Project SEARCH With New Jobs
Posted May 13, 2022
Westside Community Schools, along with Blair Public Schools, Springfield-Platteview Public Schools, Ralston Public Schools and Children's Hospital & Medical Center are all thrilled to congratulate the eight newest graduates of Project SEARCH in Omaha.
This program helps young adults with special needs secure internships at Childrens Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. Through their year of work, these students learn important employable skills including time management, following through on tasks, interview skills, connecting with coworkers and clients, and more. Once students graduate from Project SEARCH, many are offered employment at Children's and/or have greatly improved their hiring possibilities for positions throughout the metro.
The program, led at Westside by Project SEARCH Administrator and Director of Secondary Special Services Jennifer Brockman, includes Westside Community Schools students and those from neighboring districts when openings are available.
