8th grade Science students are learning about genetics and heredity. They played Jenga to simulate the ups and downs of mutations to learn how some mutations to an organism's DNA can be helpful, harmful or neutral. Similar to regular Jenga, they pulled one block from the tower at a time. Unlike Jenga, the students did not get to choose which block they pulled or where they placed it after they got it out.
