Hillside News Notes | September 26, 2025

Dear Families-

Thank you to the families that could join us last night at Literacy Night.  We had an awesome turnout of almost 400 people!  It was a night filled with community building, fun and learning.  Thank you to Mrs. Kenny, Mrs. Reeves and the many teacher volunteers that helped make the night a success.

Please check out the attachment for an upcoming Community Club fundraiser.

Our brand-new Hillside Elementary building is nearly ready to welcome students! Over the past several months, our community has had the chance to watch the new school take shape, and we cannot wait to begin this next chapter together. Please review the important dates and details below to help make our transition smooth.

Moving Timeline

  • Thursday, October 30 – Students will bring personal items from their desks and classrooms to their new spaces during school. Teachers and staff will help guide this process.
  • Friday, October 31 – No School (moving day for staff).
  • Monday, November 3 – No School (final preparations).
  • Tuesday, November 4 – First Day of School in the New Building!

Open House and Final Tours

  • Monday, November 10 – Open House & “Last Look” Tours of the current building. Families and community members are invited to walk through the old school one final time before it is taken down and to tour the new facility.

Parking, Drop-Off & Pick-Up

With our new school comes a new flow of traffic for drop-off and pick-up. Be on the lookout for more information on new traffic flows and procedures.

Playground Access

Our new playground will be accessible to students during the school day and to families after school hours. Please follow the posted signs and supervision guidelines to ensure safety.

OneWorld Health Clinic

We are proud to share that the OneWorld School Health Clinic will be opening inside our new building next semester. This clinic will provide accessible health services to students and families right here on campus. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Bricks From the Old School

As a way to honor the history of our current building, community members will have the opportunity to receive commemorative bricks once demolition has begun. Details about pickup times and the process will be shared soon.
