October 5, 2020 | COVID-19 Update for Prairie Lane families
The following message was sent to all Prairie Lane staff and families on October 5, 2020
We have been notified that a student currently attending Prairie Lane Elementary, as well as a staff member, have tested positive for COVID-19. These cases are not believed to be related.
As with any positive case in the district, we have conducted contact tracing and we have notified anyone who had close contact with these individuals based on Douglas County Health guidelines. We have also attached a document from the Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors outlining what is defined as direct exposure/close contact and what happens as a result.
As a reminder, all students and staff are required to wear masks at all times in our buildings, are expected to follow social distancing guidelines, and are asked to follow Douglas County Health guidelines to stay home if they are symptomatic or have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case. We have a detailed COVID-19 section on our website, including current case counts in our district, our COVID-19 screener, and additional resources: https://www.westside66.org/domain/408
Thank you for your ongoing engagement and support to keep our school district running as safely as possible.
