May 17, 2021 | District Offers COVID-19 Guidelines Updates

Posted May 17, 2021

Westside Students, Staff, Families and Community Members:

As we begin the final days of the current school year, we want to share some updates and reminders.

  • This school year will end on Thursday, May 27th with a 1:00 dismissal.
  • For summer school and school-sponsored activities throughout JUNE, we will continue to require masks and follow our current COVID protocols.
    • We will make and announce a decision about COVID protocols we will use for JULY summer school and school-sponsored activities in the middle of June.
    • We will continue to monitor our community infection rate, the percentage of vaccinations throughout our community, and other variables as laid out by our local health department experts in the coming weeks.
  • At this time, we do NOT intend to offer an “extended campus/at-home” learning option for the 2021-22 school year that begins on August 17th.
  • No decisions have yet been made about what COVID protocols, to include whether or not masks will be required, will be in place for August.  We will continue to monitor our community infection rate, the percentage of vaccinations throughout our community, and other variables as laid out by our local health department experts as we plan for next year.

Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging school year. We are looking to finish strong between now and May 21st and to then focus on getting ready for an amazing 2021-22 school year.
