Construction on Prairie Lane is part of the 2015 bond resolution approved by Westside taxpayers, to invest $79.9 million in improvements to school facilities. The original Prairie Lane, built in 1962, required substantial work to enhance safety, security and infrastructure. The new Prairie Lane includes a new roof, gym, special education areas, larger and safer classroom space, and improved HVAC and electrical systems. The total cost for the new Prairie Lane is an estimated $11 million dollars.

“We are grateful for a community willing to invest in schools that can serve generations of children,” said Dr. Mike Lucas, Superintendent. “This new school and others throughout our district are safer, more efficient, and better equipped to help us fulfill our mission; to help children grow and evolve into strong citizens of the same communities that supported them.”

The District will also host a public Open House for all to tour Prairie Lane on August 10, 2021. For more information about Prairie Lane Elementary or other construction projects as part of the 2015 Facilities Master Plan, please CLICK HERE.
