Clean Sweep!
Congratulations to Westside's Varsity Esports teams for winning every 1st place trophy at the NSeSA State Championship Tournament. Westside went undefeated in the competition to win gold medals in Hearthstone, Rocket League, and Overwatch.
In addition, James Gurung is the winner the 2021 High School Esports League Hearthstone Fall Major Championship! ‘JamesIsShado’ came back to take the title 3-2 over a student from Virginia! The win earned Gurung $1,000 in scholarships and prizes and a spot in the National Championships in Arlington, Texas this spring.
The Westside Board of Education also honored James and his state champion Westside teammates at their December meeting.
