February 16, 2021 | Graduation Update For Class of 2021

The following email was sent to all 12th grade students and their parents/guardians on February 16. If you did not receive it, please email communications@westside66.net.

Westside Class of 2021 and Parents/Guardians:

As of today, it is still our intent to honor the Class of 2021 with Graduation on Sunday, May 16th at 2:00.  This communication is meant to update you on different possibilities we are preparing for.  We want you to know we absolutely do intend to have a Graduation ceremony on the original date as scheduled.  We just need to continue to be flexible to adjust as needed over the coming months as we all continue to navigate the pandemic.

 Possibility A

  • One large, traditional session of Graduation at Baxter Arena that begins at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 16th.
  • There could be a limit of 4 guests per graduate depending on updated COVID protocols

Possibility B

  • A split-session of two different Graduation ceremonies at Baxter Arena on Sunday, May 16thwith last names A-K graduating at 2:00 and the ceremony for last names L-Z taking place at 6:00.
  • There could be a limit of 4 guests per graduate depending on updated COVID protocols

Possibility C

  • Several Graduation sessions to take place outside at Westside High School on Phelps Field on Sunday, May 16thbeginning at 2:00.
  • There could be a limit of 4 guests per graduate depending on updated COVID protocols

We are hoping for Possibility A with at least 6-8 guests per graduate, but it is too early to make that call.  We will keep you posted and intend to make a final decision and announcement no later than April 30th.  We wanted you to know that we want to make May 16th happen so you can plan accordingly and begin to work on what your guest list would look like if we do have limitations.  Please understand, as we all seem to be used to, that “plans could change” between now and then.
