Paddock Road Elementary, part of the Westside Community Schools in Omaha, Nebraska named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education, is located in the heart of the city at 3535 Paddock Rd. The enrollment of approximately 300 includes students in Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade. Paddock Road is a school with an economically diverse population. This economic diversity could be a challenge, but our differences are celebrated.
Paddock Road certified staff has a range of experience from 3 years to 34 years. An estimated 75% of Paddock Road staff members have their Master’s Degrees.
The school uses its daily schedule as one opportunity to embody its purpose. Third through sixth grade teachers use I/E (intervention and enrichment) time to actively involve students in their learning through passion projects. Teachers also collaborate with support staff to best meet the needs of all students through small group intervention or enrichment.
Another opportunity to embody its purpose is seen through daily practice of social skills. Staff is expected to teach all social skills to students throughout the school year. Students are recognized for safe, respectful and responsible behaviors through intercom announcements, written recognition on a bulletin board and at quarterly assemblies.
Paddock Road Elementary truly is a community. Staff and parents work together to do what is best for each child. The support that the school receives from our community is second to none.
