Jazz Band

Jazz Band Sponsor: Mr. Rischling

The Westside Middle School’s jazz band is open to students in the 7th and 8th grade and rehearses at 7:00 a.m. three days per week.  Students audition before or after school the third week of classes (with coaching sessions before and after school the week prior to auditions).

Jazz Band performs at school concerts, district jazz events, the Big Band Dance, and an annual elementary school tour.   Students involved in the WMS jazz band have a distinct advantage when it comes time to auditioning for Westside High School’s award-winning jazz program!
