Westside Community Schools leaders hosted students, staff and community members August 8, 2018 to officially cut the ribbon at the district’s newest school, Sunset Hills Elementary School.

Sunset Hills, at 9503 Walnut Street, was unveiled to the community after more than two years of planning, design, and construction as part of Westside’s 2015 Major Facilities Plan. The original Sunset Hills Elementary School, built in 1956, was demolished and the new Sunset Hills was built just to the west of the original school. The new building is a 2-section elementary school, approximately double the size as the previous building, and was completed for an estimated $13.8 million.

The school opened to students and staff at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
