  • 2022 Caucus Results:  Caucus voters select four candidates for Westside Board of Education - February 1, 2022

    The Westside Community Schools 2022 Board of Education Caucus took place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Westside High School. Residents of District 66 voted for four candidates to move forward to the statewide primary election: Terry Buckman, Kris Karnes, Jessica Powell, Adam Yale.

    Westside Community Schools holds a caucus every two years to nominate up to four individuals for two positions on the Board of Education. The names of up to four persons receiving the most votes at the Caucus are placed on the ballot for the statewide primary election to be held on May 10, 2022, where two candidates are elected to the Board of Education, each for a six-year term.

    All four candidates moving forward submitted letters of intent to speak at the Caucus and appear on the Caucus ballot. Residents of District 66 had the option to vote during the day on February 1, or to attend the Caucus on the evening of February 1 and then vote. Results of the Caucus are as follows: 

    • Terry Buckman, EdD: 112 votes
    • Kris Karnes, JD: 528 votes
    • Jessica Powell: 182 votes
    • Adam Yale: 529 votes
