Starting NEXT school year (2023-2024), Westside High School will be moving to an alphabetical based system for both counselors and homerooms. What this means is that students will be assigned to a school counselor and administrator based off their last name. Additionally, to better serve students academically and with their social and emotional needs, homerooms will be divided up alphabetically and by grade level. These changes will allow us to provide better service to both students and families and more information will be forthcoming as we begin registering for next year's classes in the spring.

Westside Community Schools is excited to formally dedicate the floor of the Westside High School main gym to Dr. Jim Tangdall, longtime District 66 educator, coach and superintendent. The dedication will take place on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00pm, immediately prior to the Westside Varsity Girls Basketball game versus Norfolk. Dr. Tangdall spent his entire career with Westside Community Schools. He was a beloved teacher, coach and administrator. He served as Principal of Westside High School for 13 years and later retired as Superintendent of District 66. Many note he was most proud of his years teaching math, coaching basketball and implementing modular scheduling at Westside High School. To date, Westside is one of approximately 10 schools in the country to continue the modular scheduling system, allowing students to take more courses, have access to teachers throughout the school day, and become more exposed to  independence and responsibility as learners and young adults. Dr. Tangdall's 3 children graduated from Westside as well as all of his grandchildren. Grandchildren Sara Tangdall, Alison Kemp, Daniel Kemp are Westside grads & his youngest granddaughter is currently a sophomore at Westside, Grace Greenwald.

Please do not use Countryside Village as a drop-off or pick-up location. Countryside would like to keep parking spots open for customers. Thank you for your understanding.

Please contact attendance at least 30 minutes in advance of your student needing to leave the building. The system is not automatic. The Attendance Office has to manually send out pass notifications to students and also enter absences into PowerSchool if a student misses class.

Parents should fill out the online attendance form HERE to call their children out of school. Once this is filled out, a message will be sent to your child's Digital ID so they can be released from class.

Parents who need PowerSchool Access to monitor their child's grades/attendance, should contact powerschool.support@westside66.net so an account can be set up.
