• Data Disaggregation by Length of Time in Our School District

We are very proud of the uniqueness of Westside Community Schools, which makes it hard to compare to those around us.  We have a strong, vibrant, close-knit community that sends us many amazing students who live within the district boundaries.

We also have many students who live outside our district that come to us via option enrollment.  Westside receives the most option enrollment applications in the state and can typically only accommodate about 33-38% of our enrollment requests.  This year, over 35% of our student population has option enrolled.

Having our total number of resident and option enrollment students hover right around the 6,200 total enrollment figure we always strive for allows us to maintain 10 wonderful neighborhood elementary schools, efficient and effective class sizes, a robust curriculum, and more.

Below is a breakdown of how our students performed on Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS) tests last spring.  You will see the percentage of our students who met or exceeded proficiency increases the longer they are part of our school district.

This shows that our amazing teachers and the viable curriculum they cover are working at a high level.

    School Attendance Matters

The more students are in school, the more they learn, and the better they perform on local, state, and national assessments.

Here’s a look at how our students performed on Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS) tests last spring.  You will see the percentage of our students that met or exceeded proficiency declines as absences increase.  We want to continue to stress the importance of regular and consistent school attendance when our students are not sick.
